Graduate Trainee Optometrists (GTO) Program
The GTO Program at Med-Optics started in July 2022. There have been 3 batches of training from inception. The program runs for six months yearly, usually from July to December. It’s a comprehensive internship program aims to nurture graduate optometrists into commendable practices. The program covers; Communication skills, Standards of practice, clinical procedures, optical appliances, contact lenses, optical lab works, ocular diseases and many other areas. The interns get exposure in our clinics where they’re guided and mentored by our experienced optometrists and experts in different practice areas. An assessment is done to ensure the graduates have been well-trained and are fit to go out and serve our country well.

I heard from a friend that there was an opening at Med-Optics and I applied. After a series of interview, I was given the opportunity. I have been with this amazing company since 2016. Med–optics has provided a conducive environment and opportunities to work with a team of highly trained professionals where we have gained skills such as inventory management, optical dispensing, patient interactions and problem-solving skills.
We give our patients product knowledge, thus the ability to sell many products like Kodak lenses, blue cut lenses, CR39 white, UC photogrey Med-optics is best known for giving right prescription to patients, hence few re orders. Customer care service has really improved across all Med-optics outlets. Quality is observed in Med-optics
I joined the team in 2016 as an office assistant, Med-optics has enabled me to transform and gain experience in eye care, sales and customer service. The working environment is supportive and has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally: that is to an optical assistant and currently working as a center team leader. I love how employees work and collaborate as a team.
